Welcome!
Private Clarinet Lessons in Charlotte, NC: All-Ages and Levels Welcome!

Welcome!
I'm Katie Brown, professional clarinetist and private teacher in Charlotte, NC. You will learn a lot more about our students and myself as you read and click your way through this website, but to sum it up in a few short words…
You'll Fit Right In
I love teaching everyone: young, old, beginner, advanced... or even a little “rusty.” If you are into the clarinet and you want to learn something, we're here for you. We're here for the ambitious high school student applying to college music programs, the young beginner learning to make her first sounds on the instrument, and the retiree picking up his clarinet for the first time in a gazillion years to play in his community band. Maybe none of these scenarios sound exactly like you but most likely, you’ll fit right in!
Personalized Music Instruction within a Culture of Community
You'll notice that I use words like "we," "us," and "our" at lot throughout this site. Yes, I am the only teacher represented here, and no, I don't have multiple personalities (unless my students stop practicing...). My “dream studio” is a place where young and old(er) not only study privately with me, but have opportunties to learn from one another and support each other in reaching for goals and growing as musicians. As the studio grows, I'm working hard to take us in that direction.
Music lessons for everyone! Wheee!
Clarinet Resources for Clarinetists, Parents, & Teachers
Already Here!
Check out my live recordings under the "Audio" tab.
If you think you may be ready to plunge into private clarinet lessons, I'm eager to hear from you! I've provided a contact form for your convenience, but feel free to simply give me a ring or shoot me an email. Burning clarinet questions are also welcome (unless it’s literally a question about burning a clarinet… I know nothing about that, though I’ve been tempted to do it during a couple of late-night practice sessions!).
Coming Soon...
Need to get your clarinet repaired? Want to watch a funny clarinet video? Gearing up for All-Sate Band or Region Band/ All-District Auditions and in need of a pre-audition "pep talk?" Are you a middle school, high school, or community band director and need help improving your students tone or staccato tonguing? Check out my "Clarinet Resources" page. (NOTE: This portion of the site is still under construction, but I'm adding stuff all the time!)
Best and practice hard!
Katie Brown
